How do BGC areas compare for coffee?

Each area has its own coffee profile once you count the rows. Crossroads leads on volume with 9 cafes, and its 5 rated cafes have a median Google rating of 4.4. Stars barely separate the big labels: Forum South Global has the highest median, 4.45 from 4 rated, and One Bonifacio High Street and Uptown Parade share the lowest, 4.2.

Forum South Global is also the Starbucks cluster: 3 of its 5 cafes, with 4 of the 5 open by 7 am on a Monday.

Uptown Parade and Bonifacio High Street South are the only big labels where every cafe has readable hours. For the latest coffee among the big labels, Market! Market! has 3 cafes still open at 10 pm on a Monday, and Uptown has 2.

Zero Block is the outlier. None of its 4 cafes carries a chain tag, and its 3 rated cafes have a median of 5 stars, but from just 7, 12 and 31 reviews. The table sets the big labels side by side.

How are the BGC area groups made?

Each cafe sits under the closest named place point on OpenStreetMap, within about 0.6 km: a mall, a square, a retail block, a quarter or a neighborhood. The median cafe is 0.13 km from its point, and 3 sit more than 0.5 km away. Anything past 0.6 km lands under "Other parts of the city", and only 1 row does. The labels are a way to browse, not a legal boundary, so a mall label can sit beside a cafe that's really on the next street.

The six listings Google Maps marked permanently closed when we checked on 23 September and 6 October 2026, Manila Padel Club, Milkcow, Moonleaf, TWG Tea and two Tim Hortons branches, are left out before grouping, so they sit in no area.

We kept the labels exactly as the data gives them, even the odd ones. Mercury Drug and Shell are shops, not districts, but they're the nearest named points for 3 cafes and 1 cafe, so they stay; renaming them would mean guessing where a boundary runs. 8 labels hold five or more cafes and get their own table; the other 44 cafes share one "Smaller areas" table with each row's own label kept.

Where do Forbes Town and Burgos Circle sit?

Both land in the "Smaller areas" table: Forbes Town Center has 3 mapped cafes and Burgos Circle has 2. Their two place points are only 0.07 km apart, so plan them as one stop with 5 cafes: ChiMac K-Chicken & Beer, Starbucks and UCC Coffee Café Terrace on the Forbes Town side, and The Coffee Bean and UCC Coffee Park Café on the circle.

This corner suits a late coffee. 3 of the Forbes Town Center cafes are still open at 10 pm on a Monday, the most of any small label, and The Coffee Bean on the circle lists 7 am to 11 pm daily. Working nearby? The work and study friendly cafes flag the Starbucks at 8 Forbes Town, which tags wifi.

How do you pick an area for a shared plan?

Agree on the meeting point before you argue over a cafe name. If people arrive from different directions, a precise street saves a long thread of messages. Distances between the district points help: Bonifacio High Street sits about 0.7 km in a straight line from Market! Market!, and Uptown Parade about 1 km.

Then compare what the rows actually show. Hours matter if your group has a hard finish time, and the early and late columns in the table above show which areas can cover it. What can't these area tables tell you?

They can't tell you how busy a cafe is, what it charges, or how many seats it has, because none of the three data sets records those. 33 of the 98 rows have no Google Maps match we could use from 6 October 2026, so their rating cell says "No rating found" rather than a guess. A new cafe that opened after the OpenStreetMap pull of 18 September 2026 won't be here yet.

So read each area line as a starting count, not a verdict. If a row is wrong, the about page explains how to send a correction, and anyone can fix a cafe for everyone on OpenStreetMap.
